Meet Thokozile Munasirei a 28-year-old mother of two 2 from Murambiwa village in Chirumanzu district. Thokozile is one of the 17000 women that Hand in Hand Zimbabwe has helped to set up income-generating projects since 2015.

Sithokozile managed to set up her enterprise with the help of Hand in Hand Zimbabwe and her livelihood has since changed for the better.

“My husband works in a different city and I’m left with the burden to singlehandedly provide for our children. The hardship that comes with being the only available parent at all-time is underrated by many.

“As a mother I have to ensure that the children have food on the table, are well dressed and properly taken care of that’s why I need to be financially independent,” she said.

Thokozile says she tried to run businesses before going through the Hand in Hand Zimbabwe business development trainings but failed because of her lack of business acumen.

After going through the eye-opening business trainings, Thokozile managed to establish her retailing enterprise. To date, Thokozile has secured contracts from local schools where she sells snacks and stationery.

She makes an average profit of $60usd from her monthly sales and this enables her to take care of her family’s needs.

“With the priceless knowledge I received from Hand in Hand Zimbabwe, I believe my business will continue to expand,” she said
