Climate change continues to bring devastation and suffering to several rural communities in Africa with millions of people facing starvation each year due to perennial droughts and floods.
To help reduce effects of climate change, Hand in Hand Zimbabwe (HiH Zim) adopted a mitigation approach, which not only curbs climate change but also create Green jobs for resource constrained community members.
The organization strongly encourages entrepreneurs under its portfolio – particularly women and youth – to implement sustainable projects that tackle climate change and its effects.
Some of the climate change adaptative strategies adopted by HiH Zim supported entrepreneurs include climate smart agriculture, tree planting, bee-keeping, afforestation, reforestation, establishment of fodder banks, and agroforestry among others.
