GWANDA-Pedia Mafu (60) has managed to pay school fees for her last born with proceeds from her group floor polish and liquid soap liquid production enterprise.
The mother of eight says she used to struggle to pay school fees for her daughter before meeting Hand in Hand Zimbabwe but after undergoing the organisation’s six (6) modular business trainings, her life changed for the better.
After undergoing the trainings and starting a group enterprise with 25 other group members, not only have they become successful business people but they are now financially empowered to take care of their household needs.
“I have managed to pay for my last born daughter’s school fees through proceeds from the group venture. It was not easy in the past as I survived on selling airtime and brooms,” she said.
Since its inception in 2021, the group enterprise has impressively expanded as they won a $1500 input voucher at the Gwanda Market Linkages Competition.
The group which used to produce 60lts of each product per month have increased their production to 100ltrs per capita.
