This week we attended a networking seminar which was facilitated by UK based Pamela Richardson at Fambidzanai Permaculture centre. Pamela is the founder of Make it Grow project and a researcher at the University of Sheffield’s Institute of Sustainable Food. Through her Make it Grow Project, Pamela has trained 7 Hand in Hand Zimbabwe staff the basics of video proposal making. Two of our staff subsequently made videos for two Self Help Groups(SHGs) in their respective districts and received small grants to complement these initiatives from Pamela and her team.
Make it Grow is a social enterprise affiliated to the Institute for Sustainable Food and the Institute for Global Sustainable Development at the University of Sheffield. The project supports community-based, sustainable food initiatives to build capacity and create participatory video proposals, in order to attract start-up (including crowd-sourced) funds and small grants.
Hand in Hand Zimbabwe is committed to inclusive partnership and cooperation to achieve sustainable development – as such we look forward to more fruitful engagements with Make it Grow.
