Motivation: Hand in Hand values “Motivation” as a key to improving self-aspiration and building individual’s self-esteem which eventually leads to the full utilisation of one’s capacity. Motivation plays a major role in implementation of both in-school and out-of-school interventions by the organization. Through motivation manuals developed by Star for Life, Hand in Hand Zimbabwe works creating an enabling environment in which the youth discover themselves and their purpose in life. The organization also brings in community role models to mentor the youth and share their life stories.
Health: Hand in Hand Zimbabwe believes that a successful entrepreneur is a health person. As such, the organization has deliberately factored in the health aspect in its interventions. Through behaviour change and health trainings the organization endeavours to ensure that the youth and other community members are aware and are responsible of their well-being. Interventions include COVID-19 awareness and support to communities, schools, linking target communities and households and schools to health service providers for HIV testing, cancer screening, sexually transmitted diseases awareness and screening, and sexual and reproductive health and rights for learners among others. Customized health training is offered in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
